Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk
What you agree to when you book a Puppy Lounge session. Two minutes to read, and it keeps everyone safe: you, the other guests, and the puppies.
Please read carefully. By checking the “I have read and agree to the Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk” box at checkout, you confirm that you understand and agree to the following, on behalf of yourself and every guest in your booking.
1. Nature of the activity and assumption of risk
Puppy Aura sessions involve direct interaction with live puppies. Our puppies are health screened, vaccinated and supervised by trained staff, but animals remain unpredictable. You acknowledge that incidents may occur, including scratches, nipping or biting, allergic reactions, and slips, trips or falls. These are inherent risks of the activity. Your participation is entirely voluntary and you accept these risks.
2. Health and allergy declaration
You confirm that you are able to take part in light physical activity at floor level. You are responsible for disclosing any animal allergies or relevant medical conditions to our staff before the session begins, and for assessing your own ability to participate safely.
3. Release of liability
By participating, you release and hold harmless Puppy Aura Inc., its directors, employees, contractors and representatives from any claims arising from the normal and inherent risks of the activity, to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Alberta. This release does not limit liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct or intentional wrongdoing. Puppy Aura remains responsible for maintaining reasonable safety standards and appropriate supervision.
4. Safety and behaviour rules
You agree to follow staff instructions at all times, to handle the puppies gently, and to avoid rough handling, chasing, picking up a puppy without permission, loud or sudden movements, and feeding the puppies anything. Puppy Aura may remove a guest from a session, or modify or end a session, if these rules are not followed, with no refund. Personal pets are not permitted in the session space. Guests arriving with a pet may be refused entry with no refund.
5. Personal belongings
Puppy Aura is not responsible for lost, damaged or soiled personal items. Puppies are puppies. Please leave valuables at home and expect that clothing may get dirty.
6. Guests under 18
The minimum age for participation is 10. Guests aged 10 to 17 must be accompanied throughout the session by a participating parent or guardian, at a ratio of no more than three minors per guardian. The person making the booking confirms they have authority to accept these terms on behalf of any minor in their party. Contact info@thepuppyaura.com with any questions about bringing a minor.
7. Media consent
Photos and video may be captured during sessions and used by Puppy Aura for promotional purposes, including on our website, social media and marketing materials. The person making the booking confirms they have informed every guest in their booking of this clause. Any guest who does not wish to appear in Puppy Aura content can tell staff at the start of the session and we will not publish images in which they are identifiable.
