Thinking about booking your first session? Here's exactly what to expect when you walk in, from the moment you arrive to the moment you head home with your polaroid.
One thing to clear up first: this is not a yoga class. There are no poses, no mats to roll out, no sequence to follow, and nothing to get right. It's simpler than that: 45 minutes in a calm room with puppies, structured around rest and connection instead of movement.
What is a puppy therapy session?
A puppy therapy session is time in a calm, enclosed room with a litter of puppies who roam freely around you. You settle on the floor, and the puppies come and go as they please — climbing into laps, sniffing around, napping, and playing. Nothing is forced, and nothing is expected of you.
What should I wear?
Comfort is everything here. We recommend:
- Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting a little fur or a paw print on
- Socks! They're required, and shoes aren't allowed inside the puppy therapy space
- Skip flowy fabrics that puppies might see as tempting toys
What should I bring?
- Just yourself! Everything you need is here
- A water bottle
- Your phone or camera for photos
- Every ticket includes a polaroid photo and keepsake to take home
How is a session structured?
- You arrive, get settled on the floor, and get a short safety briefing from staff
- The puppies are already out and roaming freely when you come in
- The session is open cuddle, play, photo time; where you get a personal polaroid keepsake to take home with you.
- Sessions run 45 minutes and are capped at 14 guests, so the room never feels crowded
If a puppy wants interaction, you get interaction. If they want a break, they take one. Some will climb straight into your lap, others will watch you from across the room until they're ready. Both are exactly right.
Do I need any experience?
None. There is nothing to learn and nothing to keep up with. If you can sit on the floor and let a puppy climb into your lap, you are fully qualified.
Who are the puppies?
Our puppies are typically 8 to 12 weeks old and come from ethical, vetted breeders. Most already have forever homes lined up, so this is not an adoption event. It is a socialization experience for them and a reset for you — gentle, positive time with new people is exactly what helps a puppy grow into a happy, confident, well-socialized dog.
Health and safety
- Sessions are supervised by Pet First Aid certified staff throughout
- We follow veterinary-grade hygiene protocols
- The puppies roam in a safe, enclosed area
- Puppies rest whenever they want, breaks are built into the sessions.
Who can attend?
Sessions are open to ages 10 and up. Guests aged 10 to 17 must attend with a participating adult guardian on the same order.
Benefits of a puppy therapy session
Beyond the obvious joy of being surrounded by puppies:
- Stress relief through calm animal interaction
- A genuine mood lift and a quieter mind
- Mindful, unplugged time away from your phone and your to-do list
- Social time with like-minded people
- Meaningful socialization for the puppies during a critical window of their development
Ready to book your first session?
Sessions fill up quickly, so booking ahead is a good idea. Don't overthink it — there's nothing to prepare and nothing to get right. Just show up, sit down, and let the puppies do the rest.
